Problem:
Emergency need for replacement panelboards
The Upper Dublin Pumping Station is the source of water for Upper Dublin Township. During a very heavy rainstorm, the pumphouse flooded, causing all the electrical panels to burn out. The station was able to keep pumping using auxiliary power, but it was a very limited and expensive option.

Solution:
Two custom panelboards produced in one day
The electrical equipment distributor immediately turned to Penn Panel & Box Company. Because Penn Panel keeps a complete inventory of all the components needed for custom panel work, it can turn emergency orders around in days instead of weeks. One panel had to be sized to fit into an existing back box. The other panel and back box were custom designed to a non- standard size. The panelboards were produced first so that the plant could start up as quickly as possible, while the panel door and trim were installed several days later.

Penn Panel & Box Company completed both panelboards and shipped them within 24 hours of receiving the specifications. The pumping station was back online using utility company power within 48 hours of the failure.
